My Hub Of The Day On HubPages: Tips For A Successful Etsy Shop

Hurrah! After only two weeks at HubPages, my Hub: Tips For A Successful Etsy Shop made Hub Of The Day!  I couldn't believe it when I got the notification at Midnight, and for the next 24 hours I was inundated with comments, positive feedback, well wishers and further questions. Not to mention it sparked this blog post and an upcoming one on my first REAL freelancing gig so stay tuned!

If you'll remember, earlier in my freelancing adventures I began with InfoBarrel. It was a good place for me to get my feet wet, and see what this freelancing writing thing was all about. I have since decided IB is not the place for me anymore, and I really feel at home with HubPages. As I have said before, their staff is johnny-on-the-spot to help you with anything, and their forums are quite extensive and helpful. I think spending too much time on the forums of Infobarrel was part of my problem in the beginning. Normally, I am not a forum poster, although I sort of began that way at IB. Now I search the threads on the forums of HP only when I have a question about something. It's good to be involved, but frankly the time is better spent actually writing, instead of trolling through the forums looking to post comments--at least, for me it is. Since I only have 10 Hubs so far, I haven't expected miracles, but the content I do have there is doing AMAZING by way of views, comments and feedback. The bonus factor is that I have already earned more money (via impressions and ads) in two short weeks at HP than I ever did in three months on IB. Hmmmm....

A Few HubPages Accolades
So, back to my Hub Of The Day. In that 24 hour period, my hub received 400 views, and over 40 comments (including my responses). Views to my other Hubs were up too, which really ramped up my overall views, moving me closer to that first 1000 Views Accolade (which I'll admit I really want to get within my first month on HP). Speaking of Accolades, I have already achieved the following: 10 Hubs, Level 1 Commenter and Hub Of The Day, so the 1000 views will fit in nicely. I find the Accolades system to be very motivating and encouraging, as a relatively new freelance writer.

If you're just getting into freelancing, or just like to write and have some interesting information to share, I highly recommend HubPages. It's super easy to get signed up, and with HP's Learning Center you will find answers to just about anything you could possibly want to know about publishing on HubPages. Good luck, and happy writing!
